COSTA RICA CHECKLIST!

Hey everyone! I started thinking about the stuff I need to pack for this trip and I got a little overwhelmed. I am terrible at making lists but with your help I think we can put together a great travel checklist! I will go ahead and get things started:

The Common Ground Handbook

I've been reading the Common Ground Handbook tonight and I came upon a section I was not expecting.

"Papel Higienico: Toilet Paper
Most Costa Rican plumbing isn't designed to handle paper products of ANY kind. Be sure to throw toilet paper in the wastebasket near the toilet."

This was something I would never have even considered before I read the handbook. It would be really embarrassing to cause a plumbing problem at your host family's home on the first day. Also on a side note, the book mentions that Costa Ricans use the formal usted form most often and you will very rarely hear the Tu form used.

Sullivan University College of Pharmacy will be sending four students to Costa Rica February 2nd, 2013. We will spend one month learning spanish and working in the community.
